//ABOUT THE PROJECT

Scientific and implementation challenges in research areas: ‘or even briefly’ Research areas of the project such current research areas as:

  • modern applications of artificial intelligence for the analysis of complex systems,

  • production engineering, automation and robotisation of production systems,

  • big data analysis, deep/machine learning,
    modern materials (nanomaterials, metamaterials, functional materials),

  • the development of smart-grids and an increase using energy from renewable sources; and implementation of Industry 4.0 technologies among enterprises in the Lubuskie region with a particular focus on increasing their level of robotisation and automation and sustainability

// PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION

Specific Project Objectives: :

Project implementation will allow: increase the research potential of scientific teams, increase the quality of scientific activity and the quality of education at the University of Zielona Góra, including shifting research topics into areas that are the most scientifically active and promising for applications.

Target 1: Improving the quality of scientific activity and the quality of education for sustainable growth.

Target 2: Supporting research and development activities leading to the development of groundbreaking innovations.

Target 3: Professionalization of human resources for the development of the latest technologies, improvement of research results and quality level of education.

Target 4: Increasing the importance of research in the international scientific community – raising the profile of the University of Zielona Góra.

The activities undertaken as part of the project will be carried out in synergy with projects and research conducted for many years at the University of Zielona Góra and will involve interdisciplinary collaboration between research groups from the four scientific disciplines involved in the project. Furthermore, activities will be conducted in international collaboration, including with leading European and world centres.

The project will also contribute to increasing the effectiveness of fundraising for scientific research, increasing the quality of education in the faculties assigned to the scientific disciplines involved in the project by including in the curriculum the most up-to-date scientific knowledge, information on modern technologies and their implementation, involving talented students in scientific research, supporting their participation in interesting internships or apprenticeships.

It is worth highlighting the unique interdisciplinary nature of the project, which includes two disciplines in science and life sciences (astronomy and physical sciences) and two disciplines in engineering sciences (automation, electronics, electrical engineering and space technologies; mechanical engineering), which guarantees a very high level of research growth in innovation, but also experience in cooperation with regional industry and in the creation and implementation of technologies.

The implementation of this plan will contribute to changing the face of the Lubuskie Voivodeship in the development of innovative industry and the green economy in areas such as: “manufacturing of machinery equipment and metal parts and welded structures and products”, ‘digital innovations, eco-innovations, new materials and future technologies in industry’, ‘electro-mobility and green motoring’, ‘renewable energy sources’ thanks to the construction of four centres of cutting-edge technologies and knowledge in the Lubuskie region at the University of Zielona Góra (UZ), i.e.:

Centre for electrical power systems and robotic automation systems.

Centre for sustainable Human-Machine Interaction in eco-innovative manufacturing.

Centre for submicrometer physics, automation and data analysis robotics.

Centre for autonomous space monitoring.
